Life is Short!
Stay Healthy and Enjoy It
You only have to decide to be healthy and follow the right strategies to remain healthy.
If you ask most people what are the 3 most important things in their life, you can be sure that one of them will be their HEALTH.
The World Health Organization defines health as:
“a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and
not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”
Yet so many people sabotage their health through laziness and indifference. In many cases it is only when our health is taken away from us that we realize how important it is.
Without your health you will not be able to fully enjoy your wealth. There is a lot of truth in the old saying “Your Health is Your Wealth”.
How do you get on the road to good health?
Recent studies have shown that if you are relying on conventional western medicine to look after you, then your chances of survival are less than if you choose to take responsibility for your own health, through exercise, healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
There is no great secret to being healthy. All you need is the determination to
· eat wisely
· exercise your body
· exercise your mind
· have an active social life and
· reduce stress
We all know that we should drink plenty of clean water and eat good nutritious food, however, there is one big problem with this - it's very hard to get good quality food.
As a result of our modern farming techniques, the soil does not have many of the nutrients for plants to absorb. This means that the food that we eat is lacking in nutrients and in many cases is contaminated with insecticides, pesticides and toxins.
In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that on average there are 72 different insecticides and pesticides used on fruits and vegetables. Pesticides are now part of the food chain!
When you also take into account the amount of toxins in the air we breathe and the water we drink, it is no wonder that many people are now nutritionally depleted and very toxic. There is only so much that our bodies can take before they break down. It is vital that we cleanse our bodies of these toxins (which have been proven to cause cancer) and nourish our bodies.
If you would like to investigate this more there is a great video by noted gastroenterologist Dr. Becky Natrajan M.D. titled 'Are You Toxic' that explains how environment and lifestyle contribute to illness .
I was very fortunate to be introduced to what I believe is the world's leading nutritional cleansing and fat burning system developed by a company called Isagenix.
Nutritional cleansing increases the health benefits you'll receive from the ancient health practice of cleansing. The herbs, vitamins and minerals that aid cleansing do two things:
· accelerate the removal of impurities from the body and
· nourish the body with nutrients to rapidly revive health
A cleansed and revitalised body is stronger, resists illness better, is more efficient and performs at a higher level than one that is filled with impurities.
I initially did the Isagenix 30 Day System and continue to use the products on a continuous basis using the Isagenix Body Balance Program to ensure that I maintain a healthy body.
You will be amazed at the results you can get from nutritional cleansing and I highly recommend that you give your body the ideal state to perform at its optimum.
Exercising your body
You don’t have to be a gym junkie or train like a professional athlete to be healthy. All most of us need to do is to get about 30 to 40 minutes exercise a few times per week and we will be well on the way to a reasonably healthy lifestyle.
Remember to put some variety into your routine to overcome boredom and pick activities that you like to do. If possible take on a personal trainer who will help to motivate you and develop an individual program to meet your needs.
When you combine a good exercise program with the Isagenix Body Balance Program your results will be remarkable!
Exercising your mind
Just like our bodies, our minds need to be exercised to keep fit. Instead of sitting down watching television, why not allocate some time to your personal development and exercising your brain.
We are all very busy so you need to use your spare time wisely e.g. when you are travelling on trains or busses, read a book that will improve your mind. Use car journeys to listen to motivational and self improvement tapes or CD’s. Use the internet to research areas of interest. Take a class in a subject that interests you.

Active Social Life
As humans we all need to love and be loved. Our need for social interaction is part of our being and it is very important that we socialise with others and have loving relationships.
There are so many leisure activities available but in many cases we are so busy in the rat race that we don't have enough time for interacting with family and friends. If you cannot physically catch up with people why not use the internet tools such as Facebook, Bebo and MySpace to keep in contact with your family and friends.
Many people are now trying to get a balance between their work and family commitments. However, with the high cost of living and the need for two incomes to sustain our desired standard of living, it is very difficult to get this balance right. Where possible, work for companies that have family friendly working environments. Many companies are now realising that in order to keep valuable employees, they have to offer better work-life balances to their employees.
The best option is for at least one person to operate a home based business. This will allow you to combine your work and family commitments and could result in you being happier and possibly less stressed than in a traditional job.
Home based business is one of the fastest growing sectors of the world economy as people are fed up commuting and missing out on family time (see the Finance section for the best home based business opportunity).
Another way that people can have rewarding social interaction is by doing volunteer work. I'm sure that there are many charities in your local areas that need people. This can be an extremely rewarding thing to do and also assists with most people's desire to make a contribution to society.
Stress is a normal and in certain circumstances can be a positive thing. However, when we let it get out of control, it can lead to very serious problems. Stress related illnesses are now the biggest modern killers. Most people do not realise the damage that stress can cause until it is too late.
With the hectic pace of modern life it is important that we take time out to relax and recharge ourselves. If you fee stressed, make sure that you address the cause of the stress and not the symptoms. Don't be afraid to seek professional help if you are not coping.
To relieve minor stress, try some of the following:
· Objectively evaluate the cause of your stress and determine if you are over-reacting
· Don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself
· Release anger and pent up feelings
· Do deep breathing exercises
· Maintain a nutritious diet
· Laugh and have fun
· Take a holiday
I'm sure that by taking action in each of the above areas, you will be well on the way to having a healthy lifestyle.
